It is hard to keep up with all these NEW Systems for marketing your Website or promoting your Affiliate program. Everyday My inbox is filled with offers that promise to make me the next Internet Millionaire.
With Web 2.0 and the Internet Marketing world changing almost every week it feels like, it is important to remember this…….
It doesn’t matter How Advanced your Marketing is the BASIC Principals still remain the same. There are Hundreds if not thousands of people out there re-inventing the wheel. You can make the wheel look nice by putting on some chrome and white wall tyres but it is still a wheel. The basics, it is round, NEVER change.
So when your firing around the internet today, looking at the next big thing remember a few Basics and adhere to those. All the latest gadgets mean squat if you miss these simple things.
1. Feature – Benefit. This is the Most basic form of marketing, pointing out the features of your product and the benefits to your customer. NotĀ the benefits to YOU, The customer!
2. Call to Action, many Sales people I have trained used to forget the most basic of basics, ASK FOR THE SALE!
3. People tend not to buy on their first Visit. A Percentage DO but a Much larger percentage do NOT. You need to FOLLOW-UP with these people, remind them you are here and what you have to offer. On Average your message will need to be seen Upto 7 times before someone takes action. Capture the visitors Details and follow them Up!
4. Personalisation of your messages and contacts. We Forget that Clicks and visitors are Actually HUMANS. They like to be treated like humans and especially Like individuals. If you are Getting 5-10 enquiries a day, why not take the time to personally contact each one. Ask for a phone number and ring them, Invite them to ring you. Even set up an Online chat room and hold small scale webinars. Treat each Click or visitor personally. Most of us don’t have 10,000 a day to deal with.
5. Belief in your product or service. If you are NOT Using the product you are promoting how the hell can you give an inside knowledge without Bullshitting? If you wouldn’t buy it why would I? Just have a think on this one if it does NOTĀ make sense you may be in the wrong Industry.
By applying the BASICS you will get a much better response and a much better sales conversion ratio. Sure you can chase NEW traffic all the time but your most valuable asset is the visitor that is at your site right now. You need to get their details as there is a better than 95% chance they are leaving without buying, You need to keep in touch.
